Creating belonging in our lives and workplaces stretches our thinking beyond what decades of diversity training and program focus invited. When we fail to tend and befriend the essential human need to feel part of something beyond ourselves, othering gets prioritized and builds strong, isolating, and invisible boundaries. Those boundaries mask identity that may only be defined by each person, inside-out and discovered only by asking and genuinely inviting learning about another.

Coaches have five new core competency skills to proactively explore identity and culture that opens the door to generate belonging in coaching partnerships. An activity is offered for personal reflection in advance of the session to explore these skills. You will also have an article from our presenter published in Choice magazine about this topic. The live session explores those skills in greater depth, offers time for coaching practice, and concludes with a collective discussion about the value in this essential self-development to serve in a professional and ethical way with any type of client.
