Join Tijen Genco, MCC ACTC, Assessor Mentor, for an immersive exploration of a formative, client-relevant approach to mentor coaching that moves beyond checklist-style evaluation. This session introduces a structured way to understand coach responses in direct relation to what the client expresses—their meaning-making, emotional field, and developmental direction. Rather than tallying behaviors, participants learn to discern the alignment, appropriateness, and impact of a coach’s moves within the client’s unique context.
Tijen will introduce key concepts from her Comprehensive Coaching Taxonomy, offering a practical lens for identifying how coach choices support or miss the client’s unfolding process. While having the book on hand may enrich the breakout room experience, it is not required for participation.
Through demonstration and guided analysis, participants experience how formative, customized feedback can illuminate patterns, strengths, and developmental edges with far greater precision than traditional checklist methods. After the conceptual introduction, coaches will work in small breakout groups using their own transcripts to apply the taxonomy and practice evaluating coach responses through a client-relevant lens. The session concludes with a collective learning harvest and Q&A to integrate insights and explore practical applications for mentor coaching and professional development.
