Writing Books: Identify Your Expertise to Stand Out In The Marketplace

Short Summary: A book adds the title author to your expertise, and opens doors to speaking.  Yet it is simply not enough anymore to just say you wrote a book to position yourself as an expert coach.  The book needs to be well-written, and show how you are unique in your story and style amid a flooded marketplace of coaches now writing books.  We explore how to craft a book that stands out among the rest by asking key story questions in the inception of the idea, and identifying the role the book will play for readers.  How is the book an expansion of your profession, versus a reiteration of what you already coach or teach?

Bio:

   An Intuitive Book Coach with her company, A Story Inside, Kim guides professionals through the writing of their memoirs and self-help books.  Her clients clarify their life purpose through writing and manifest bigger career dreams. Her art of storytelling culminated from two decades as a movie producer and screenwriter in Hollywood.  Her movies starred notable actors, and screened all over the world.  A published author with her memoir Kicking Abuse in the Assfrom Waterside Press, she trained as a writer at Stanford Writers Lab, San Jose State English Department and UCLA Advanced Screenwriter’s Lab.

    Kim was a Featured Elevate Speaker at the 2018 South Bay Women’s Conference, the 2017 Keynote Speaker for the Soroptimists of America Spring Conference on Tell Your Story, and will be a Key Panelist at the Motion Picture Fund’s Deal With It Women’s Conference 2018.  She was featured on the UK You Tube Show How I Livein February 2018, and has appeared in numerous pod casts and telesummits for Voice America, Breaking Down Your Business with Jill and Brad, Unity Radio and the Non-Fiction Authors’ Association. She has held story workshops for PMI, SCORE and PIHRA.
